Buyer's Guide
Channa Jali
We specifically design Channa Jali for sand and larger particle filtering. Channa Jali is a woven metal mesh of wires, similar to the local wire netting. The horizontal weft wires are threaded over and under warp wires. The wires interweave together to form a stable and strong metallic fabric.
The Channa Jali is tightly woven and is quite flexible. It can be bent or shaped as required. The woven design allows for maximum impact resistance, unlike Welded Mesh. Therefore, it is famously used in sand and stone filters.
Production
Material Selection: We provide the following material choices: Annealed Black Oiled Wire and Standard Galvanised Wire.
Wire Drawing (as required): The wire is drawn through multiple dies, in order to achieve the desired thickness. This process also ensures uniformity and consistency in its diameter.
Wire Cleansing: The wires are lubricated with various solutions and/or oils to maintain a good finish and corrosion resistance. Surface treatments such as annealing (heat treatment), galvanizing (zinc coating) may also be done in-house.
Coiling: The wires are then coiled onto compatible spools.
Setup: The spools are then set up as required by the wire mesh machine. This requires feeding the wire onto the warp beam.
Weaving: Each wire passes alternately over and under the divergent wires. The shuttle carries the horizontal weft wire across.
Feeding: The vertical wires are fed slightly, according to the appropriate mesh size.
Harness repositioning: The two harnesses holding the vertical wires switch their height positions.
Further Weaving: The shuttle then moves the other way, in order to continue the weaving process. The fabric is bound together tightly, with the machine's movements.
Disengaging the fabric: The final mesh is disengaged from the machine, ready to be rolled.
Packaging: The woven wire mesh is cut into 50ft rolls and packaged using custom machinery.
Quality Inspection: Each roll is inspected multiple times in its production cycle. During production, mesh size is being measured every few hours. During every shuttle refills, wire thickness is re-assured. Then, at the moment of length measurements and packaging, the quality of the final product is assessed.
